Introduction

About

Robert Lundberg (b. Boston, Massachusetts) is a photographer and multimedia artist based in Hudson, New York. Working across photography, audio, and long-form narrative, Lundberg builds self-produced documentary projects that explore identity, place, memory, and the cultural residue of music and travel. His ongoing project Uncontaminated Sound functions as both an archive and a living platform:moving between portraiture, performance, and street observation. Where images accumulate over time into exhibitions, broadcasts, and published essays.

Lundberg’s practice is grounded in sustained fieldwork and community engagement. In 2023, he presented Uncontaminated Sound: Reflections at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon, New York: a two-year development process with the Howland Cultural Center board that culminated in a six-week exhibition of 73 photographs. His work has been exhibited in New York City and the Hudson Valley, including at Clio Art Fair (Chelsea), Center for Photography Woodstock, and Arbor Gallery, and he has participated in Hudson and Beacon Open Studios.

Beyond exhibitions, Lundberg produces Uncontaminated Sound as a monthly radio program on WGXC 90.7 FM (launched March 2025) and as a YouTube series (69 episodes since 2020; 690,718 views) distributed through V13 Media. His writing has appeared online in Unplug Magazine, including “Eleven Nights in Belize” (Parts I–II, 06/2025 and 07/2025). Lundberg holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Johnson & Wales University and has pursued additional training through Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts and the School for Poetic Computation.
