Field Reporter Documentary Media
Systems Researcher
Bio
Robert Lundberg is a field reporter, documentary media maker, and systems researcher. He leads Object 001 Studios, a field-based practice examining how infrastructure, technology, institutions, and environmental change shape human experience.
Working across photography, audio, writing, interviews, and communication design, Lundberg develops long-form projects grounded in sustained observation and direct engagement with people, places, and complex systems. His work moves between independent journalism, documentary production, institutional research, and public-facing storytelling.
Recent reporting has focused on AI infrastructure and energy systems, the Gulf of Maine’s working waterfront, coastal communities, and the communication ecosystems surrounding scientific and technological change. His ongoing documentary project Uncontaminated Sound has developed across portraiture, recorded conversation, radio, video, exhibitions, and published work, forming a living archive of artists, musicians, writers, and cultural figures.
Over the past decade, Lundberg has contributed to projects across healthcare, finance, arts and culture, digital systems design, and independent media. His work has appeared in Unplug Magazine, and he produces a monthly program for WGXC 90.7-FM.
He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Johnson & Wales University and completed additional training in graphic and web design through Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts.
